Yummy biscuits anyone??

Breakfast is my absolute favorite meal of the day. So I was scared and yet hopeful at the possibility of trying these Whole Foods Gluten-free Bakehouse biscuits in my array of breakfast foods this morning. Along with my tofu scrambler (a la 'fantastic world foods' box) and tater tots, biscuits and gravy were on the menu. I tried a homestyle gravy mix (finally found a gluten-free one!) from Mayacamas that I got at a health food store in Mississippi. It was ok, so-so. Almost like white gravy, but I was disappointed with a little pepper in it, or other kick of spice. On to the biscuits. I was happily surprised at how soft the inside was after just heating them up (do not bake too long to keep the texture more light/fluffy). I honestly didn't see much of a difference in texture from these and regular biscuits. Good job Whole Foods Bakehouse, and, YAY!! They are the same taste too! yumm...I can eat biscuits!!

Good g-free waffles! And other kinnikinick products

Kinnickinick (hope that's the right spelling) has quite a few good products in the frozen section of your local W.Foods. I like their pizza crust, glazed donuts are 'alright' if you have no other options, and my favorite, WAFFLES!! I have eaten the Van's waffles many times, but they don't have the same texture, taste, and fluffiness of these. These are my favorite g-free waffles so far.

Now, to spare those of you that are trying a lot of new g-free products, you will soon realize that there are some products that are really hard to come by....that taste and have the same perfect texture as the w.wheat counterparts.

Some kinnickinick products that have not yet been perfected IMO (in my opinion) would be their: animal cookies (good taste, bad texture), chocolate oreo-type cookies ('k-toos'), smoreables (smore graham crackers, very gritty texture!), and (fluffy) doughnuts. Their doughnuts are more like cake doughnuts. The taste of the doughnuts are good though.
I haven't tried any of their sandwich breads yet, so more on that later...

Finding the perfect Hambuger

I didn't know how hard it would be to find a good hamburger. I assumed good pizza would be hard to come across...but hamburger patties that taste good and are vegetarian (what used to be known as Grillers) have been impossible to find so far. I've tried 3 or 4 different boxes, including the Amy's Bistro burger patty, and the Sunshine breakfast and barbeque patties. Let me say that they are all disappointing to me. I think my mind is so used to the succuluent Morning star Grillers, that I just can't see myself eating these patties. I think, for now, good-tasting patties that are gluten-free and vegetarian are one in a million. I just haven't found that one yet. :/
So, the veggie burger search madness continues!!! lolol
